Welcome the arrival of spring, marked by the day of the equinox, when the Earth stands in a moment of quiet balance in its journey around the Sun, and day and night are held in equal measure. The Earth’s axis neither leans towards nor away from the light, and for this brief threshold, darkness and light meet in harmony before the scales begin to tip towards the returning Sun. From here, the light strengthens and each day lengthens, drawing warmth into the soil and stirring life from its winter rest. This is the quickening, an awakening within the Earth organism, as sap begins to rise, buds swell, and the first blossoms open. The bees begin to take flight once more, their gentle buzzing weaving through the air, signalling the reanimation of the landscape. With the return of light comes a rising astrality, lifting energies from the depths of the soil into the atmosphere, inviting movement, growth, and renewal, and calling us to align with the expanding breath of the Earth as it turns once more towards life.
