Monday 23rd June
Today the Moon reaches perigee—its closest position to the Earth—making its forces too powerful for productive garden work. It’s an unfavourable day for sowing or planting, but a good one for reflection. We can marvel at how quickly everything has changed in the garden; stacked moments have transformed the whole landscape. The efforts we made earlier in the year now reveal themselves. Our gardens may be poised between a state of chaos and one of order. Perhaps it is this in-between space that is best—as we create both habitat for nature and clear paths and weed-free beds for our vegetables. It’s on the edges where things truly happen.
