The Moon rises in the earthly constellation of Virgo, drawing our attention to the roots and to the soil. In biodynamics, cow manure is regarded as an integral astral presence within the farm and garden. Its potency is further alchemised when placed into a cow horn and buried through the winter months. To understand this, we must first recognise the cow as a being that concentrates its life forces inward, directing them into its digestion—energies that then radiate through the horns and the hooves. The cow takes in grass and, through its will and deep inner intensification, transforms it into a substance of renewal for the Earth.
