Wednesday 20th May
The Moon rises in the constellation of Gemini, bringing light forces that relate especially to the flowers of the plant. In biodynamics, Gemini is a flower sign, carrying an affinity with blossoms, fragrance, colour, and the delicate meeting between plant and pollinator. For the honey bees, this is a beautiful time to notice their work among the flowers. Bees drink nectar through their proboscis, while also collecting pollen in the pollen baskets on their legs. Back in the hive, this pollen is combined with honey and transformed into bee bread, a rich and nourishing substance fed to the developing honey bee brood. So today we can look to the flowers not only as beauty, but as nourishment, relationship, and exchange. The blossom opens, the bee enters, and the life of the hive is quietly fed.
